From I-70: Take Exit 151. Go north on US 27 about 1/4 mile, turn right (east) onto Highland Road, go 1 mile, turn right on Cart Rd and follow the signs.

From 27 headed north - there is a closed bridge. Just before the bridge, turn left. Turn right on 8th street, go over the railroad tracks, turn right on H St., left on Chester/27. The Park is located in the Whitewater Gorge and can be accessed via automobile via the Johnson Street entrance or via foot over the pedestrian suspension bridge on Sim Hodgin Parkway or via the Whitewater Gorge walking/bike trail.

Voted as one of the top waterfalls in the state of Indiana by Indiana Office of Tourism Development. In the early 1800's, Timothy Thistlethwaite blasted a new channel in the West Fork of the Whitewater River to direct the water over this rock formation and provide more waterpower to his nearby sawmill. The falls is an excellent sight to SEARCH FOR ANCIENT FOSSILS among the rock formations along the river. This beautiful waterfall is located just south of Waterfall Road near Springwood Park and is a short hike.
Cardinal Greenways is a private, not-for-profit organization that encompasses the Cardinal Greenway, White River Greenway, Historic Wysor Street Depot and Cardinal Equestrian Trail.The Cardinal Greenway is the longest rail-trail in Indiana and spans 62 miles from Marion through Muncie to Richmond in East Central Indiana, with a road section from Gaston to Jonesboro that is approximately an additional 15 miles.
Long before woolly mammoths roamed the frozen plains, long before dinosaurs existed, Indiana was covered by a shallow sea teaming with life. The fossils found in the Whitewater Valley give us some idea of what life was like in Indiana 445 million years ago.
Highland Lake Golf Course is an eighteen hole championship golf course with large greens kept fast and beautiful. Our course in Richmond, Indiana features 6,981 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 71.5 and it has a slope rating of 118 on Bluegrass. Designed by John Budzale, the Highland Lake golf course opened in 1972.
